Porch awning

Postby NannaB » Tue Apr 24, 2007 7:52 am

We are thinking of buying a porch awning. We like the Compactalite Plus and the Porchlite XL. I am somewhat disabled so can't help hubbie put our full one up very well and we also would like to tour round without the trouble of putting up a heavy. We just want enough room to put up a table and couple of chairs, store a few bits and be able to walk around without bumping into them. Also does know if they fit close to the van without flappy about. We would like to see one before we buy but not sure who would have them erected. Many of the caravan shops don't have then up.

Your comments would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

I have a Sunncamp Ultima which is easy to put up but a little on the large side. I do put it up on my own, the hardest bit is putting it through the awning rail. The inlaws have the Porchlite XL which is great but you have to get it set up right or the rod that goes around the top rattles against the side of the van in a strong wind.

It makes him feel more manly this way  I think he does it for the shock factor, I wheel off the water porter to get some water when we are setting up...and I swear he watches me get 10 foot away from the van and then throws the awning out and aims to see how much of it he can get done before I get back. I don't mind though, it keeps him quiet. :D
